Wekiva Cove - ROAD REPAIR AND ROAD MAINTENANCE PROJECT

Road Project: Over the past several weeks Wekiva Cove roads have been under repair by our local utility companies and also by Asphalt Preservation Services, contractors hired by your WCHOA BoD. The repairs were necessary in order to maintain the integrity of our roads.

Additionally, the BoD has elected to implement a maintenance program with APS which will include re-sealing and striping of our roadways over the next several months. Please expect some inconveniences with regard to this project; but these repairs and the maintenance program will be essential in preserving the longevity of our road surfaces and hopefully will extend for many more years the need to resurface the roads. Drainage Project: In the up coming weeks the drainage issues on the east side of our lake will be addressed. Those of you who walk the paths around the lake and those of you who are fortunate to reside around the lake will notice that there is a good deal of standing water after a rainfall. Over the past thirty plus years our retention areas on this side of the lake have been reduced by landscaping, grass and other components. The culvert pipes that move the water are also clogged and the drains that move the water from the retention area to the lake are also blocked and need to be serviced. Maverick Landscaping has been contracted to service all of the culvert pipes and drains and to install additional drains to move the standing water more effectively. Additionally, steps will be taken to keep the flow of water moving and to reduce the amount of standing water; also to eliminate many of the issues and concerns we face as a community as a result of the standing water. Again, please expect some inconveniences and we ask all residents who use the paths and who reside around our lake to please be cautious and to observe the post signs. Thank you, WCHOA BoD.
